InWeekly Article - A POP of Culture, August 18-25, 2016

Jennifer Leigh wrote an incredible article about the Power of Photography® Show that was published in InWeekly Arts & Entertainment section for the week of August 18-25, 2016.This was published before the show so I am slow getting it on our site. But it was well done and we need to thank Jennifer and InWeekly for the coverage.

Her article was titled A POP of Culture. You canDownload & Readit. She did a great job talking about the POP show and I know many who attended the show mentioned reading the article.

InWeekly is an amazing paper.Pick up a copy, download it in PDF format, or you can read it on-line at www.inweekly.net . They do a great job covering numerous topics about local events and entertainment.

Thank you to Jennifer and InWeekly for covering our POP Show 2016.

WAPC Christmas Party 2016

WAPC Christmas Party - December 12, 2016 - Another Great Success!!!

Our WAPC Christmas Party is coming up the second Monday of December, the 12th, at 5 PM. This great event will be catered once again by the gang at Apple Market. The cost will be $10 for members. We will also do gift collection for the residents at The Arc Gateway. Details will follow, but basically we ask everyone to buy a gift.  Consider something practical link clothes, etc.  Candles are not a good idea.  Box, wrap and bring to the Christmas Party. Tag the gift with the size, sex and/or age the gift is for.  I will ensure they are delivered to Arc the next day.

Please email Dick Weaver regarding your attendance at the party.  The cost is $10 per person..  If you have any questions at this point, please email Dick Weaver.

Rumors are that Norm Haines will be singing I'm Dreaming of a Nikon D5.  Rob Kepko will be giving away $5,000 worth of gear and we will announce the new officers and perhaps the clubs new logo.

We always have a great time so please remember to email whether you are coming or not so we can have a precise count for Apple Market.  We certainly don't want too many leftovers.

See you there.

Photographic Trip to the Covered Bridges of Oneonta, Alabama

Fall photo weekend was October 21 - 23, 2016

If you did not go, you missed a great trip to Oneonta, AL.  The drive went fast.  Oneonta is a typical small town in Alabama but has the distinction of being the hope to several covered bridges.

Because of the drought, the leaves were not in the best of color but some of the bridges were at lower elevations and it appears the water there has helped and we did see some areas of great color.

Checkout our Gallery for several excellent images of this trip.  We were also able to find some great local food at Mexican and Italian restaurants.  Plus, it was Covered Bridge Weekend and there was a small fair set up within walking distance of our hotel.

We had most major meals together and Dick Weaver led the caravan of several cars while we explored the covered bridges.  This was definitely a photo-weekend to consider to do again.
