We will meet this coming Monday night, November 16th at our regular location – ARC Gateway. The Create Learn and Share will be from 6-6:45 Photographing Artwork by Dan Murray and Digital Collage by Michael Netherton.
The members of WAPC may bring one or more photography-related items to the club meeting on Monday, September 14, for a Members’ Swap Meet. Items like tripods, filters, film cameras, lens, lighting, books, videos, frames, racks, bags, etc. are appropriate. This will be held in the dining (front) room only, not during the program time. No person will be allowed to occupy a space larger than 4′x4′ with their stuff. Some table tops will be available, first come claimed.
Each person who wishes to participate as a “trader” should arrive at ARC by 5:45 and be set up in the dining area by 6 p.m. Those who wish to make purchases or pick up bargains or freebies are asked to wait until 6 p.m. to allow traders time to get their items unpacked and in place. No outside (nonmembers) traders are allowed to sell, but they may come as guest customers.
Members may sell, give away, or swap items with the understanding that any undisclosed faulty or damaged items will be clearly prohibited. Any money transactions should be in round figures and making change handled by individual sellers. Accepting checks is up to seller’s discretion. All trades are personal interactions between adults and not matters of club business should there be a problem. If anyone feels led to make a donation to ARC Gateway from a percentage of their sales, that is also a personal matter.
This is a private swap meet among club members and their guests only. Remember the Golden Rule, as well as “Caveat Emptor,” just as you would conduct yourselves in any market place. If this one-time trial is successful, then it may become an annual event. Those advanced photographers who have out-grown their entry level photo gear may be able to benefit beginner and intermediate photographers in the club by helping budget-minded people upgrade inexpensively. Dickering is acceptable but not encouraged.
The Swap Meet ends at 6:45 p.m. This event will replace the usual “Create-Learn-Share” for September only. If you have any questions, contact Suzanne at msuzanneborges@gmail.com .
The next meeting program will be Using Layers presented by Robert Cole. Meeting time is from 7-9 and Create, Learn & Share - Food Photography, is from 6-6:45. We meet at ARC off Fairfield Dr. (Go to” About WAPC” for directions).
