Meeting September 13, 2010
The next meeting will be at ARC Gateway 7 pm on Monday, Sept. 13th.
Richard Jernigan will be showing basic studio portrait lighting, using speedlights and simple flash units, umbrellas and Sto-Fen diffusers. He uses Canon 580s and Vivitar 285s, basically the same type of flash units that many of the club members already own. It makes no difference if it is a Canon, Nikon or something else, a light is a light. He will be showing positioning of lights and determining proper exposure and also spend some time on basic posing for formal senior type portraits and as well as subject/model control and direction. Much of this is for production type shooting when there are 100-300 subjects to photograph in one day. But, the posing techniques apply to more casual portrait shoots as well as to wedding photography. Paula and Richard have owned their own photography studio.
Paula will do a seminar on Portrait Professional Studio 9. This is a fantastic program that delivers wonderful results on portraits in a short time frame.
